3rd Graders explore force and motion!
"Forces affect the earth and the activity of living things," that is the central idea for third graders as they launch into the transdisciplinary unit "How the World Works!" Students are learning how force and motion create severe weather systems and how those weather systems affect living things (humans, plants, animals). Teachers will be leading students through discussions about: - Force affects motion - Forces of nature can create natural hazards - Humans can benefit from natural forces - Humans can reduce the impact of natural forces Be on the lookout! Students will be choosing a severe weather system to research and will present their findings! At Home talk with your child about the weather changes that are occurring as we transition to winter weather. Do they have ideas about how to protect the plants or pets? Share your child's ideas and stories with me! |
